Wayne is a choreographer who creates narrative driven dance-theatre works. He blends a sophisticated physicality that is world class with text to tell stories that connect with its audience. He seeks collaborations with people who have an interest in visceral story-telling to create works that deal with narrative through movement, text and stage design.

Starting with a script, Wayne crafts movement that examines the text—revealing the subtext and the unsaid through movement. Wayne then uses both the text and the movement to layer the narrative to produce work that aims to push the boundaries of what dance-theatre can be.

Wayne’s long-term engagements as a performer include five years of domestic and international touring with National Dance Company of Wales (NDCWales), three years with Richard Alston Dance Company and Wayne moved to Australia on an invitation by Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela to join Sydney Dance Company for a year.

Wayne has also worked with Motionhouse, Yorke Dance Project, SmallPetitKlein, Joe Moran Dance, Oguike Dance, Alexander Whitley Dance Company, Mark Bruce Company and Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company and performed works by the likes of Jacopo Godani, Itzik Galili, Stephen Shropshire and Stephen Petronio amongst others.
