Shortlisted for the Dance Enterprise Ideas Fund

Exciting news…

I have been shortlisted for the Dance Enterprise Ideas Fund and will be pitching my new work Vestige on the 21 March at East London Dance’s Ideas Summit. A great chance to share my ideas and introduce people to my work. I am very pleased indeed.

I have a new job that I am very proud of- I am a contemporary technique teacher for levels 4 and 5 on the CAT programme at DanceEast.

I am very pleased to be joining Elsa and the team at DanceEast in delivering lessons to the young and enthusiast students on the CAT programme. I had a few weeks with them last year, and am I now beginning this term as their new regular tutor.

We begin this term with regular classes, later this year there will be a focus on partner work and I’ll also be setting a piece on them. Watch this space!

In December 2015 Wayne Parsons Dance began the development of a new work titled Vestige. Vestige sees Wayne treading new ground as he works for the first time with writer Ankur Bahl and Dramaturg Pooja Ghai to bring to life his exciting new work that integrates text and movement.

This initial R&D was supported by Akademi, Rich Mix and DanceEast through their Choreographic Development Fund. It was also generously supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Schrit_tmacher Festival.

Schrit_tmacher dance festival’s stage in Aachen, Germany. I performed with Henri Oguike Dance Company for three nights at this wonderful festival. The stage was set in an unused warehouse, much like the setting for the Movimentos International Dance Festival in Wolfsburg where I performed with Sydney Dance Company. These two festivals are proof enough for me that the Germans really do know how to put on a dance festival.

Thanks Schrit_tmacher!
