Success for ‘Vestige’ and Wayne Parsons Dance.

I am so excited to been 1 of 8 artists chosen to be supported by East London Dance through their Dance Enterprise Ideas Fund. It was the first time I had pitched an idea and all the practice seems to have paid off. The award will support the development of my new work Vestige.

Shortlisted for the Dance Enterprise Ideas Fund


Exciting news…

I have been shortlisted for the Dance Enterprise Ideas Fund and will be pitching my new work Vestige on the 21 March at East London Dance’s Ideas Summit. A great chance to share my ideas and introduce people to my work. I am very pleased indeed.

Centre for Advanced Training DanceEast Ipswich

I have a new job that I am very proud of- I am a contemporary technique teacher for levels 4 and 5 on the CAT programme at DanceEast.

I am very pleased to be joining Elsa and the team at DanceEast in delivering lessons to the young and enthusiast students on the CAT programme. I had a few weeks with them last year, and am I now beginning this term as their new regular tutor.

We begin this term with regular classes, later this year there will be a focus on partner work and I’ll also be setting a piece on them. Watch this space!

In December 2015 Wayne Parsons Dance began the development of a new work titled Vestige. Vestige sees Wayne treading new ground as he works for the first time with writer Ankur Bahl and Dramaturg Pooja Ghai to bring to life his exciting new work that integrates text and movement.

This initial R&D was supported by Akademi, Rich Mix and DanceEast through their Choreographic Development Fund. It was also generously supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Mark Bruce’s ‘Dracula’ nominated as one of the best shows of 2013.

Earlier this year, for four months, I was working with the Mark Bruce Company on his version of Dracula. It has not only been listed in the Standard as one of the best shows of 2013 it has also been nominated in the dance section of the South Bank Sky Arts Awards. Huge congratulations to all involved.

Teaching company class for Motionhouse Dance Theatre

I have been teaching company class for Motionhouse Dance Theatre this week.

We had a great time. Thanks for your hard work and commitment guys. I know how hard you all work and you still gave it all in class. Much respect.

National Choreographic Centre. Final day picture.

What a great time we had at the LAB at DanceEast.

Here’s a little picture of the team including dancers, choreographers, teachers and of course, our leader of the pack, Jonathan Lunn.

I have recently learnt that I am one of the four choreographers to have been selected for the National Choreographic Centre’s ChoreoLAB.  This will take place at DanceEast in early April 2013 and will be headed by Jonathan Lunn.
